Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is reporting some improvement since he was struggling with a sore knee. The old man passed the test by attending every practice on Thursday only two days following the Bucs lost to Detroit Lions by a margin of 24 goals to 9.

The walkthrough Baker Mayfield had on Wednesday had been restricted, but his prompt re-emergence is a good indicator before a divisional game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

I would prefer to get it out sooner than later and in a way, that is what I would prefer to do in case I lose, I would want to get out there sooner than later to get it out of my system, Baker Mayfield told reporters Thursday. We have some team that knows what should be done to win. We will get well, do business in the proper manner, and proceed.

Although this is some good news as Baker Mayfield is recovering, the Buccaneers keep adding injury. Stars in the defensive tackle Vita Vea was also included in the list with a foot injury and is out of practice on Thursday a day later than he was not on the list the previous day.

That would add Tampa Bay to 18 players listed on the injury list – a number of concern to the head coach Todd Bowles. Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) has already been ruled out of Sunday as a receiver, and Chris Godwin (fibula), and linebacker Haason Reddick (ankle/knee) will miss several games.

Backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater also did not participate in Thursday’s session as he recovers form some dental problems, joining Vea, Irving, Godwin and Reddick.

However, there is also some good news. The linebacker Lavonte David (knee/rib), receiver Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. were all back in some capacity after missing practice on Wednesday.

It is also missing a star wide receiver suggestion Mike Evans, who was put on injured reserve Wednesday with a broken collarbone.

The mounting number of injuries will require the Buccaneers to keep all hands on deck, and a healthy Baker Mayfield to remain competitive when Sunday comes against New Orleans.
