The Green Bay Packers needed a strong performance in Week 10, but instead they came up short again. Their 10-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles dropped them from first to third in the NFC North. The main issue was the same one fans have seen all season: the offense could not finish drives.

Quarterback Jordan Love had a tough game. He completed only 55.6% of his passes and ended with a QBR of 38.8. After the game, Love pointed to one key moment that he believes changed everything. He confirmed that the fourth-and-1 play late in the fourth quarter came directly from head coach Matt LaFleur.

According to Zack Jacobson of 247 Sports, Love said LaFleur called an inside zone run from the shotgun at the Packers’ own 44-yard line. With the clock running down, Green Bay tried to move quickly. Josh Jacobs took the handoff, but Philadelphia’s defense was ready.

Jordan Love explained that the Packers had used the same play earlier in the game, and the Eagles probably recognized it. A defensive lineman was even heard on the broadcast yelling, “Inside zone this way!” before the snap. Jacobs was stopped behind the line and fumbled. The Eagles recovered the ball, and the Packers’ last chance to tie the game was gone.

While the play call stood out, it wasn’t the only problem. The Packers’ offense had trouble all night. The team gained just 261 total yards and scored only once. Jordan Love finished with 176 passing yards, averaging 4.9 yards per throw. Jacobs worked hard but ran for only 74 yards on 21 carries. His touchdown came late in the fourth quarter, with little time left to make a comeback.

The defense, however, played very well. Green Bay held the Eagles to just 10 points and limited Saquon Barkley to 60 rushing yards. Jalen Hurts also struggled, throwing for only 183 yards with one of his lowest completion rates of the season. The defense forced turnovers and gave the offense chances to score, but the offense could not take advantage.

The loss dropped the Packers to 12th in the league in total offense. Their next game is against the New York Giants. It could be a good chance to get back on track, but only if the offense can improve and avoid mistakes like the one in Week 10.
