Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is not afraid to confront his beginning to the 2025 season because it has not been a good one. Tagovailoa acknowledged that he has not played his best football after being questioned about it on Thursday. The statistics support him: 5 turnovers in 3 games, and Dolphins are at 0-3.
However, the actual fire erupted when the 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton weighed in on the matter. Newton, who won the award, and brought the Carolina Panthers to a Super Bowl in 2015, had his doubts about whether Tua is performing to the value of his large contract.
The more money the more expectations, naught, Newton, said. Around you three you have a Ferrari and Lamborghini. That is what other quarterbacks would wish to have. So, come on, dawg.”
Tua Tagovailoa did not restrain himself when reporters took such remarks to him.
Why, anybody can play quarterback in this league, then, Tua said. I wish to witness anyone who is not in the street doing it. Cam is doing whatever he wants. However, it is more comfortable to be sitting back, have a clicker in your hand, and tell another person that he/she is doing something wrong than to actually do it.
He said, I suppose any person can criticize, never everybody could play quarterback.
The reaction created eyebrows as Newton is not any other person. The No. 1 overall pick previously experienced a very successful 11-year career in the NFL with plenty of highlights and personal achievements.
In the meantime, however, Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins have greater issues than soundbites. The external clatter, be it ex-players or fans, is not going to stop until Miami can find a method of beginning to win games.
