The victory of UAE in the first of the two-match series on September 15, by 42 runs over Oman officially earned India a spot in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 stage. Its outcome put an end to the Oman campaign and established a virtual knockout battle between Pakistan and UAE on Wednesday, September 17.

Luckily, the Men in Blue are yet to make a mistake and they have won both their group-stage matches. To start with, they beat UAE by nine wickets in the first match and on Sunday, they beat arch rivals Pakistan by seven wickets.

India will have their last group match with Oman Friday, September 19 and the Super 4 will start the next day, Saturday, September 20. They will have their inaugural Super 4 game on Sunday, September 21.

The supremacy of India in full play

India have fulfilled their role of being one of the strongest quarters in the tournament due to the guidance of the skipper, Suryakumar Yadav. The depth in terms of bowling of the team has been brought to the fore both in the two games thus far.

Against the UAE, Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube tore through the batting line and the pair of bowlers were unbelievable with 7/11 figures on the board as the UAE collapsed with only 57 runs. Kuldeep brought that shape to the Pakistan battle where he collected 3/18 in four overs managing to keep the rivals at 127/9. The spinner then attributed some good contributions to teammate Axar Patel who assisted him to make important wickets.

India needs to win over Oman on Friday in order to complete the group A at the top. However, followers will surely be looking forward to another India vs Pakistan match in the event that Pakistan beats UAE in their final league match and the two arch rivals will go head to head once again in the Super 4 on September 21.
