Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved history again, this time in the off field. According to Bloomberg, the Portuguese star is now officially a billionaire, after officially signing a record contract renewal with Saudi Arabia club Al-Nassr.

Fortune Worth 1.4 Billion to Ronaldo

The net worth of Ronaldo has allegedly reached an incredible 1.4 billion dollars (in pounds, 1bn/ 1.2bn). This increased following his signing of the most lucrative contract renewal in sports history in June, with an estimated annual salary of £178 million a year – and that is around 488000 a day. To add to it, the 40-year-old got a signing bonus of £24.5 million, which may increase up to 38 million should he remain in the second year of his contract.

Entering some Elite Billionaire Club

Although Ronaldo is the first billionaire in the history of football, he is one of the only few sports legends in the world who have reached the billion-dollar mark. Only other sports stars such as tennis star Roger Federer, golf phenom Tiger Woods, and basketball legends Michael Jordan and LeBron James have reached the same milestone as reported by Forbes.

A life of Records and Glory

The most recent accomplishment by Ronaldo brings to the list of legendary accomplishments. A five time champions league winner and seven time league champion, with 946 official goals, the most of any male footballer in the history of the game, and is the most capped men international footballer, with Portugal. Manchester United to Real Madrid, Juventus and currently Al-Nassr, he has been successful across countries with his career lasting over decades.

Ronaldo Still Hungry for More

Ronaldo is not yet willing to retire his shoes despite having reached 40 years. In a speech in Portugal Football Globe Awards, where he is the first recipient of the Prestige Award, he said that it is still not time to think about retirement.

Ronaldo said that he would like to continue playing in a couple of years. I have been told by my family to quit, they say I have done all. But I still feel good, I am serving my club and country, and I want to continue doing it.

He also said that his second major target will be to achieve 1,000 career goals, which he only requires 54 to achieve. Ronaldo will pursue the same in the next round of world cup qualifiers in Portugal against Ireland and Hungary.

Cristiano Ronaldo is 40 and he has been proving himself to be beyond expectations, on the field and in his bank account.
