The New England Patriots just made a loud statement — and it might be only the beginning. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye and first-year head coach Mike Vrabel led the Patriots to a shocking upset over the Buffalo Bills under the bright lights of “Sunday Night Football.”

This wasn’t just another surprise victory. It was the Patriots’ biggest win since the Tom Brady era ended and a clear sign that Vrabel’s young squad is starting to find its rhythm.

With the Week 5 win, New England now sits at 3-2, and the schedule ahead looks very promising. According to league data, the Patriots have the easiest remaining slate in the NFL — their upcoming opponents have a combined winning percentage of just .305. For comparison, the Denver Broncos have the next easiest schedule at .411.

Over the next month, the Patriots have a golden chance to stack more wins. They visit the New Orleans Saints in Week 6 as a 3.5-point favorite, followed by a trip to face the Tennessee Titans. Then come two home matchups against the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons — teams that currently have a combined record of 5-14.

If things go as expected, New England could be sitting at 7-2 by Week 10 — almost doubling their total wins from each of the past two seasons, when they finished 4-13. Beyond that, their schedule includes even more favorable games, including two against the winless New York Jets.

Oddsmakers have taken notice, too. FanDuel lists the Patriots at -150 to hit 10 or more wins and -210 to make the playoffs. Vrabel’s +1000 odds for Coach of the Year suddenly look like great value if this surge continues.

After taking down the Bills, the Patriots are no longer just a rebuilding team — they’re a legitimate threat in the AFC. If they keep up this momentum, New England could be one of the league’s hottest teams by Halloween.
