The Cleveland Browns are also taking a step to strengthen the offensive line, by allegedly acquiring a left tackle Cam Robinson experienced player of the Houston Texans in a substitution of draft pick.
Various reports suggest that the Browns will trade Houston a sixth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft and in return, they will obtain Robinson as well as a seventh-rounder.
Cam Robinson, 30, has been in the league since 2017 when she became a second-round draft pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars after coming out of Alabama. He had seven seasons with Jacksonville and was sold to Minnesota Vikings in 2024 where he began 10 games at left tackle. He entered into a one year, 12 million contract with the Texans earlier in the year.
Although Robinson did open Week 1 in Houston, he has not done much since that time- he has only played that game and since then he appears on the inactive list. Although he had few snaps, Pro Football Focus gave him credit of allowing just one pressure and no sack in 36 pass-blocking plays.
In his career, Cam Robinson has played 102 games in briefs with Jaguars, Vikings and Texans.
The relocation is very timely to Cleveland. The Browns are thin at tackle because they lost Dawand Jones to a season-ending injury and have not had any veteran Jack Conklin since Week 1. Robinson should at least bring some quality depth but with the injuries that the team is experiencing, he might soon be in a starting position.
The Browns are back in action Sunday in London against the ex team of Robinson the Vikings. It will start at 9.30 am on NFL Network.
