Jared McCain 76ers Guard is Back in Practice after the injuries

Young guard Jared McCain is still on the team of the Philadelphia 76ers who are holding their own on the third-year contract renewal as he recovers after several injuries.

Finally, Jared McCain, the impressor as a rookie last season, before being injured in the knees in December, went back to light practice on Thursday. This was followed by his third setback in September as he tore the UCL on his right thumb during an offseason workout. On 1 st October, the team reported that McCain had surgery and that he would be reconsidered after a period of four weeks.

Although the 76ers are yet to announce a timeframe when he will appear on the floor, it is a good omen to see him on the floor again. After the session on Thursday, Head coach Nick Nurse gave a positive news.

He is a good-looking guy, Nurse, said. It was a practice, and his initial time with us since. No communication to-day, but he has been busily striving to be reintegrated. Concerning conditioning, it is good, yet, obviously, it is not the same as being game-ready.

Jared McCain is 21 and one of the most exciting young players in Philadelphia last season, but got hit by injuries. As a freshman out of Duke (16th overall in 2024 NBA Draft), McCain was able to impress in only 23 games (eight starts). He even received a vote in the NBA Rookie of the year award even though he missed the greater part of the season.

Jared McCain scored 15.3 points, 2.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds every game before his knee injury on Dec. 13, 2024, against Indiana. He scored efficiently 46/38.3 percent at the field and at the three-point range respectively revealing some of the scoring potential that made him a first-round draft.

Though the team did not reveal information on his third-year contract, it is reported that the contract is worth 4.42 million in the 202627 season.

The Sixers have their best ever chance of having a boosted back court with Jared McCain back in action, which will increase the number of options in terms of depth and scoring. Provided his recovery continues its progress, the young guard might be in the hypothetical position of picking up where he was before delivering energy, shooting, and optimism to the future of Philadelphia.
