A’ja Wilson has made it again creating history of becoming the first four time MVP of the WNBA. The Las Vegas star Aces became the winner of the award in the second consecutive year, and this is on top of her earlier MVP awards in 2020 and 2022.

According to WNBA, A’ja Wilson won the voting, garnering 51 first-place votes networked with 21 second-place votes and a total of 657 points. Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier was second with 18 first place votes and 534 points.

The remaining first-place votes went to Phoenix Mercury Alyssa Thomas who earned the third place, with Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray and Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell, the other finalists.

Having four MVPs in eight years, Wilson is now the only one at the top of the WNBA history, outperforming such legends as Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, and Lauren Jackson.

The 29 years old superstar helped Aces to win 16 straight games at the end of the regular season bringing an average of 26.1 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.3 blocks to the average per game. She also made a WNBA single-season record of 13 games scoring 30 points or more. A’ja Wilson had an average of 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists averaging more than 40 games this season and this was best in the league. She partnered with the minutes of Alanna Smith of Minnesota to share Defensive Player of the Year honors, and she had been second in blocks (92) and third in steals (64).

A’ja Wilson is off Sunday when the Aces play the Indiana Fever in the first game of their WNBA semifinal series.

Collier, the 2025 All-Star MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year last year, was the second woman in the history of the league to shoot 50-40-90 in a season, after Elena Delle Donne. She ended the year at 53.1 percent in field, 40.3 percent in 3-point range, and 90.6 percent in the free-throw line with an average of 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.6 steals in 33 games.

Thomas, a 4-time MVP vote candidate in the past five years and 2023 loser, had 15.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 9.2 assists during 39 games, a career-high.

Mitchell was the Fever’s player who played all the 44 games and averaged 20.2 points, third in the league behind A’ja Wilson and Collier, with 3.4 assists per game. In 42 games, Gray was able to provide 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists with Dream and became the third most voted in Most Improved Player.
